In
2001, a new custom built home studio was set up in Walkley Heights,
South Australia, and the name was changed to Audio Lab. Audio Lab has
been building an online presence since 2003, with extensive experience
and expertise now in place for technical and marketing requirements
on the web.
The list of projects and
events we have been involved in is too comprehensive to include here,
so below is hopefully a list of examples short enough to not have
you falling asleep in your chair! If you want to know more about what
we can do, contact info@audiolab-online.com
Working with a publisher: Publisher
Blue Pie comes on board with Audio Lab Productions, to take
publishing to a global level.
World
Class Assistance from Audio Lab: Audio Labs' knowledge base
includes experience working stage and sound with acts such as - Soundgarden,
Elton John, Billy
Joel, Tool, Michael
Jackson, Fatboy Slim,
Bexta. Having the same basic drum and midi setup
in the studio as Elton Johns drummer uses live, our expertise was
requested specifically to assist with drum/percussion setup when the
Back to Back tour came to Adelaide SA - Audio Lab Productions' home
town.
Developing Character shows: Among
many shows and artists Audio Lab Productions has developed, is the
character show "The Buzz Show", and ever-silly-for-kids,
"Snorkel Simpson Spleenwart", the singing gardener. Below,
"The Buzz Show" shares the bill with Sophie Monk.
Developing
acts for children: Jazz Kats & Professor Elliot Gnash
team up: Following the positive response to the release of 'The Most
Groovy Album Ever' - (produced and recorded at Audio Lab 2001) Audio
Lab produces children's cabaret show with Jazz
Kats & madcap singing scientist Professor
Elliot Gnash for kids. The show airs as part of the Adelaide
Cabaret Festival .

school musicians: Audio
Lab Productions develops, funds and runs the 'Adelaide Young Bands’
Challenge'; an educational challenge for high school bands to build
a following and prepare for professional performance.
Audio Lab
acts as industry advisor: Audio Lab advises show organisers
of “Back To The Wild” A very successful fundraiser for rock wallaby
introduction at the Adelaide Zoo. The show featured many bands (including
Testeagles, Waiting For Venus, & The Mark Of Cain)
Radio Stations
request Audio Lab Productions: Audio Labs' Production of
'The Bite's' songs are requested by various radio stations for use
as promo material, some trax became regular airplay on a number
of stations in SA.
Audio Lab
Produces Radio Show series for children: Richie takes on
role as Music producer for local kids radio show Rainbow Soup. The
show ran weekly for a number of months, providing an excellent launching
pad for narrator (Michael Mills) to ascend to National Television
with "The Bookplace"
Audio Lab
gets heard: Molly Meldrum and Andre Barralon of Melodeon
Records (Mushroom) take on dance act "The Circular Sound".
The band was received warmly by Molly
Meldrum and plans for video and club release where in the works.
However, the band split up before a deal was signed. The know-how
has since been applied to current dance acts, resulting in 5 star
ratings for releases in the UK, and DJs taking on material in the
US.
Audio
Lab brings encouragement from many majors:
Encouraging
responses are received for Audio Lab acts from many of the country's
top record industry A&R's and directors - including EMI, Festival,
Janssongs, Fable Music, Polygram, East West Records, Sony Music,
& BMG. Audio Lab remains committed to artist development, and
assisting artists to get their material into the right hands and
heard.
Audio Lab works on video
production. Audio Lab has been extensively
involved in the making of two video clips with
talented students from the Media Arts Production Skills (MAPS)
course at Hamilton College. Below - "So This Is Love"
is filmed in Adelaide, South Australia. These students later
went into to movie making, which included music composition &
production from audio lab.
Learning from the 'Motown' man:
Richie jams with Stevie Wonder’s
Band when they came in to play with the James
Brothers in Lipsticks Nightclub after
a concert. Richie lent the bass he was playing at the time to Mowtown
bassist and producer Nathan
Watts. They jammed till the early hours of the morning. Stevie
himself went and had a jam with John
Farnham
Acts
associated with Audio Lab Productions have attracted audiences from
all over the world. Faces include Kylie
Minogue who attended a gig at the Saracens
Head Hotel, Adelaide SA. Her "petite frame" was spotted
getting it on to the music as the evening vibe heated up.
Film
crew attempts to blow Richie up at every opportunity cheers to an excellent
piece of work, a fabulous time was had by all.
Sand

Project
